Wow this photo is oldddd! Done in 1997 the feathers and Indian beads are done by DG. Years ago in the first shop where he worked on Canal St. DG encountered this man. You can see that he had tattoos already, but the spacing was a bit off so the patron was left with a big space between the two and on the sides.

DG asked him what he wanted, and the man answered, "Something Indian, you know, like with feathers?" From there DG sketched this right onto his arm with a toothpick dipped in the ink.

We see the final tattoo and it is revolutionary, even for this business. The other tattoos look flat and cartoonish compared to the rich detail and color by DG.

What is interesting to note is that some of the biggest tattoo artist today, in 2008-9 use this technique of a heavily detailed, handled tattoo around other existing tattoos. DG seems to have done it first!
